  • What is the ARALA?

    The Atlantic Region Aboriginal Lands Association is a non-political organization that operates as a technical land management advisory board but is not intended to provide political consultation on land related issues.


  • When was the ARALA established?

    The Atlantic Region Aboriginal Lands Association (ARALA) was established in March 2000 and became incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act in 2019. 

  • What is the purpose of the ARALA?

    • To raise professional standards of First Nation lands management professionals by providing opportunities for training, professional capacity development, mentoring and technical expertise in the area of First Nation Lands Management.

    • To develop and maintain communication among First Nation Lands Management professionals;

    • To build and promote the Atlantic Region Aboriginal Lands Association throughout Atlantic First Nations and to encourage their membership with ARALA;

    • To promote, encourage and recognize First Nations for the successful work they have done in the area of First Nation Lands Management;
